Virtual Prayer Walk September 23rd thru October 14th

Pray for the Melvins … (John 5:24) "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and

believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of

death into life. (NASV)

Dear Friends and Family,

Melvin’s the name, moving’s our game… After 8 months and sleeping in 18 different places, we have settled in the newly renovated Baptist owned mission house in Maseru. The suitcases are unpacked and we are finally getting into a daily routine. Thank you for your prayers over these past months as we have experienced many changes.

The most recent is Zachary, 11th grade, and Eli 8th grade attending school away from home for the first time. They began attending Machabeng International College on August 27 which is only about 5 minutes from our home. They are adjusting well and have made friends from many different countries. They like the after school intramural sports and Zachary will audition for a school production this week to fulfill a drama class requirement. It is a British school complete with uniforms and a challenging curriculum.

Tom and Cindi spent most of the month of August supervising and working alongside contractors at the mission house. We built relationships with many of the workers as well as being able to practice our Sesotho and learn more about the culture. In August we also attended a prayer retreat with IMB missionaries from southeastern South Africa, Swaziland, and Lesotho. We were spiritually refreshed and renewed for God’s work with the Basotho.

We want to remind you of our virtual prayer walk, Fall on Your Knees for the Basotho, coming up September 23 – October 14. Many of you have responded and registered your participation. If you have not, there is still time. Just email to let us know. We are anxious to see how God uses this walk for His good and glory. Due to the limitations of our internet, we must ask you to visit the Basotho website for all the details you need to participate and to download the pictures and text for the walk. The site is ready and waiting for your visit.

As you enter the fall season we are experiencing spring. Fruit trees and flowers are blooming and the Basotho are planting. The critical need now is rain. The present drought is the worst in 30 years and the rural Basotho are running out of food for themselves and their livestock. Pray that God would send both physical and spiritual rain upon the Basotho.

As always we thank you for your prayers and consider you a part of our team. Blessings in abundance.
