Dear Prayer Partners,
Give me a B; give me a C; give me a M…Put it together
and what do ya get? Baptist Collegiate Ministry!
We were blessed to host a volunteer team made up of
BCM from Universities of Miami and Louisiana/Lafayette, May 20 – June 4.
The team worked tirelessly encouraging, discipling, and building
community relations with the four existing Baptist churches and two
outreach areas. They also helped to make Baptist presence known in areas
of Maseru by playing a softball game with the orphans Zachary has been
teaching this school year, presenting a program of music, skits, and
testimonies at a high school and juvenile correctional facility, and
working at a local youth center. God used them mightily to
further His kingdom during their 14 day mission.
We enjoyed getting to know them and were sad to see them
go. We are now busy preparing for a second team being led by our home
church, Ironbridge Baptist, June 21 –July 5. They will be
involved in sowing seeds of the gospel through door to door evangelism,
VBS, and showing the Jesus Film in new work areas.
As for family news, Tom celebrated his
birthday on May 25th, Zachary and Eli survived their first set of
British style final exams and will finish the school year on the
27th of June, we finally started our coal burning heater to offset the
cold winter nights and mornings, Zachary spent four days in East London,
South Africa, on a class trip with his French class, we have yet
another temporary pet as we cat sit for one of the MAF pilots
until October, and we can now get mozzarella cheese in Lesotho!
Excitement comes in small packages!
Thank you for continuing to pray for the Basotho and
the work He has called us to do in the lowlands of Lesotho. We
depend on your prayers and the work of the Holy Spirit to guide and
direct us. We are also very thankful for all who gave the $150.4
million to the 2007 Lottie Moon Christmas offering so that His
story can continue to be told in Lesotho and to the nations.
